Five calculators for the numbers that come up when you plan an engine, each with the explanation under it and a reference table of the 38 piston and radial engines the simulator measures. Every one ends with the nearest engine in the roster and a button that runs it on the dyno.

How these differ from the other calculators on the web

Every formula on these pages is the same one everyone else uses. What the others do not have is an engine to check it against. Each calculator reads the simulator's roster: real bore, stroke, compression ratio and induction for every preset, and the peak the simulator's dyno measured for it. A reader who types a 7.0-litre V8 sees what the LS7 in the roster makes and can run it.

The measured figures are the simulator's, at fixed air, and the presets marked "same as" reproduce a published rating within 5 %. Where the model is still being calibrated the page says so.
